It All Happened One Night!

It never fails when a school performance is first scheduled, something happens and it needs to be rescheduled.  And it is always rescheduled on a night that something else is happening.....last night was no different.  So my hubby and I had to divide and conquer....and with 4 children and only 2 of us, someone gets left out.  M had a BB game in Pueblo last night....against a team that our friend is the coach.  Would have loved to go down and see our friend's again, but that just wasn't in the cards. (and she lost, yuck!)

K had her Choir performance last night, so I went to the one they presented to the school during the day.  I am so lucky that I have the option to do that.  I was surprised to see how few people had chosen to be in it this year.  When our other 3 kids did it, there were tons of people that joined.  Anyway, it is always fun to see my kids perform....and K did a great job!

Also last night, J had her band concert at the high school.  So while my hubby was attending the evening performance for K, I was with J.  The 2 of them were to come over late after they were done there, but for once, the band concert went only an hour (shocker!).  By the time they would have parked and made their way in, it would have been over.  They were bummed.  But I thought J did a great job.  She was actually up in front for the first set which she never is, but moved to the middle on the second set...although I could still see her through 2 other girls.  7th grade played with 6th grade first and it was not as good as the second part when 7th grade played with 8th grade.  Something about those first year band players that just don't sound right.  Anyway, J was very sad that they were not going to play the Pirates of the Caribbean liked planned.  She loves to play that song.  It sure was nice to sit in an auditorium instead of standing in a cafeteria at the middle school.

It was a really nice evening.  What's next?  It always is busy during this time of the year, but I really do love it!  Can't wait for the next thing on the calendar!

One thing that saddens me about my boys growing up is missing out on these school performances. And surprisingly, even though we have only two boys, we had our share of nights we had to divide and conquer too. Sooo worth it to make the effort to attend these things. Love them! As always, I love your pix Mel!
