J had her birthday party today so our house was full of leaping frogs and green everywhere. She had a great time even though a few of her friends could not make it. We decorated the front porch with lily pads to mark the way to the party. We had green balloons and streamers all over the house and as many frogs as we could find. The goodie bags were green with everything green inside from a frog pencils and toy frogs to green gum and MINT 3 Muskateer bars. And to top it off, everyone was to wear green. We played a game called "Lilypad Jump" where they had to toss the frog and get it to land on the lily pad. They thought that was pretty fun and I had a hard time getting them to stop. They put together a foam frog figure that they loved doing too. Of course there was presents and cake with ice cream, then a game of "leapin' frogs". (another name for that is musical chairs) This age is so fun because just hanging out is totally fun for them. They even had to finish a SUDOKU puzzle before we could start the party. J had a great time and got some pretty fun things, too. She sure has some great friends. Also today, I took J out for her birthday lunch. Last year I started a tradition that I take the birthday child out to lunch with just MOM to wherever they wanted to go. I was able to squeeze that in before the party and she chose Red Robin. YUM! I love that place so I was more than happy to take her there. She ordered her regular cheese pizza with sliced melon on the side. She was even given a sundae as the waiters sang to her. She was quite thrilled with that. I think she would tell you she had a pretty awesome day!
