(She is a little embarrassed to be sitting on the saddle and sung to)
Then home for presents and cake.....well, no cake (didn't have time to make one or even order one)...again, she was a trooper. But we were full from dinner anyway and she did get a birthday sundae at Texas.
I think she was happy with her presents...as she got some of the things she had asked for. You can tell she is 12 as she wanted a Taylor Swift CD and her own mp3 player.
Being an even number, she gets a friend party. It was not planned at all before my father in law passed away...I figured I had plenty of time. But with the funeral and such and her 2 friends planned vacations, it wouldn't happen until July UNLESS we did it before the funeral. That gave me only a couple of days.
So she invited her two BFF's and we went bowling, ate pizza, swam in the pool and played water games, watched a movie and had a sleepover. A chocolate fountain was in the plans, but at 11:30pm when J said they were finally ready for it, I had to say no. We never did get around to doing it...guess I owe her one!
They had a blast together and J was so nice to let K tag along and play with them all afternoon. K was in heaven and had so much fun too. It was an easy party to say the least....something I needed since it was last minute.
ALSO......
The rule in our house is ears pierced when you are 12. M had hers done on her birthday, she couldn't wait any longer. J has been waiting patiently for months to get hers pierced. But her birthday fell during camp, so she was bummed that she would have to wait longer. Then with all that was going on, she had to wait until Tuesday (almost a whole week later than her birthday) Yikes.....that was too much for her...she wanted them done now. But , she waited. It turns out that day her dad was working at the mall store and so he met us and she had us both there for support. She was really nervous....heard that it hurt.
We kept telling her that it would hurt only for a second, but she still was very nervous when the lady actually put the gun to her ear.....This was her expression as she started to pierce her ear.......the fear in her eyes......
And here is the 2nd ear being done.....she knows the pain now.....
But here she is after the fact and she loves them now.....all is right in the world again!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY J!
