The first week of school is always hard for me and I tend to mope around the house and can't seem to figure out what to do with myself. I watch the clock and can't wait for the hour when each one of my children will walk through the front door and create noise. I know, it sounds stupid, but I love my kids so much and love being with them, that even though I know they need to be at school, I miss them when they are gone.
But then again, after that first week, I am good with the quiet. I guess after the routine is established again, then we all settle down and get to business. I have many things on my "To Do" list for this school year that I have been putting off for way too long. I hope to be diligent this year and get lots accomplished.
The first day of school is rather easy as I send the 2 big kids off to Seminary in the early hours.....I say goodbye to them the night before...what can I say, they leave really early. And then my Middle- schooler gets a carpool ride, which I say goodbye to her as I walk out the door to take my youngest to elementary school. So most of the school pictures I get are the ones taken when the ones in high school go pick up their schedules the week before school. T is a SENIOR (can you see that word in bold letters and light flashing) and M is a Sophomore at Sand Creek High......GO SCORPIONS!
**I was lucky to get this pix out of him.....didn't want me to take any**
I was able to go get J's schedule with her and she was thrilled to finally have a locker. Last year, her grade didn't get them, so that was a plus for her moving on to 7th grade. She was so excited to get some locker stuff like a mirror and a pencil cup.....and she doesn't have to share a locker either!! (I can't believe how tall she has gotten over the summer...doesn't seem like a little girl anymore to me)
K was a bit nervous for school today...not sure why....she usually is so excited to see her friends and her teacher. Maybe 4th grade is a big deal and that is why she is nervous. Not sure, but she held my hand all the way to school and looked a bit sad as I said goodbye at the classroom door. She really is excited for her new teacher......she is a good one.
Good Luck to all my beautiful, wonderful children. You will do awesome and have tons of fun!

The pixs posted look like their Mother.
Good luck with your To Do List.
What fun! School starts for my boys in 2 1/2 more weeks! As a working Mom...I am excited for the change. ;o)
Those are terrific photos. Wish I'd done that when my kids were still in school. Hope your kids have a fabulous year!
School starts here in two weeks. It will be my first year alone. Kinder is all day and Kaden starts this year. I am excited but sad too. I won't know what to do with myself at first. Matt and I plan to go to breakfast that first day of school.
Your kids are so grown up, it's amazing to me how much they've changed.
Did I tell you I am in RS now, not primary anymore, big change for me.
