Later that week, he found out that he was suppose to have received an award but the guy went to the school for the dinner and not the Air Force Academy. So I kept thinking that we would get that awarded to him before the end of the school year, but it never happened.
When school started this month, we were told that at the next Commander's meeting (or something like that when all the cadets were in their uniforms and it was "official") he would be presented his award. Well, finally it happened.......he received the Order of the Daedalians Award.
(Why is Colonel not in his uniform????)
You may be asking what that is? Here is the medal.....

Here are the qualifications for receiving this award:(as taken from the website)
Presented annually to one outstanding cadet in the junior class who meets the following criteria:
1. ranks in the upper 10% of the AFJROTC
junior class
2. ranks in the upper 20% of the school junior
class
3. demonstrates an understanding and
appreciation of patriotism, love of country, and
service to the nation
4. indicates the potential and desire to pursue a
military career
We are so proud of all T has accomplished so far.......this year will be a big year for him. Not just in JROTC, although with being Group Commander it does add a lot of pressure and responsibility. He is going to have a fabulous senior year!
YOU TOTALLY ROCK SQUIRT! (I mean T)
