Sweet 16!

This week was birthday week at our house.  And it was fun!

M turned 16 on Wednesday....yea, I can't believe it either.  Seems just like yesterday that this sweet little baby girl was born.
I was so excited to finally have my girl.  I had her name picked out way before I was even married...thank goodness my hubby was okay with that name.  She gave me some trouble getting here, but oh what a beautiful baby.  And now she is 16....still beautiful and so fun to have around.

Since there was a 5 day weekend from school, she decided to have her party on one of those days....President's Day.  She invited 10 people (6 girls and 4 boys) and 5 showed up (4 girls and 1 boy)....some were sick, one had to babysit, and one boy was just a flake.  It started at 5pm and ended at 11pm for the boys and a sleepover for the girls.

We started with pizza and pop, then came games and Just Dance.....

Then came out the junk food and more games and Wii.....

There was much laughter and screaming and talking and just plain having fun.  There were balloons and leis and flower umbrellas and presents......

Then a movie and the ice cream cake.......

Then it was sleeping bags and pillows and blankets and chit chat and lights out.  They all had a great time and she hadn't even turned 16 yet.....Happy Birthday M!

Then a day later, she was official as of 7:42 am on Wednesday.  She had to go to Seminary, but because it was a PLC day, she got to come home before going to school.  So I fixed her eggs for breakfast before she had to leave.  Then for lunch, I surprised her with Chick-fil-a brought to the school so she could still hang out with her friends.

That night we went to dinner early to celebrate....Red Robin.  And we even had enough time to come home to open presents before the girls headed out to Young Women's........
At church, the leaders brought balloons and celebrated there too.  I think she has dragged it out long enough and milked it for all it's worth.  But she should cuz you only turn 16 once and so I hope it was a great week for you M......we all love you!
