Time Got Away!

Can not believe that I have not posted anything for so long.  It is not like me to wait this long, but it seems that time has a way of getting away from me at times.  Where do I begin?

M's basketball season was a success this season.  Varsity went to regionals and made it through the first round, falling to D'Evelyn in the Big 8.  They have never gone that far before so it was so exciting for us (even tho M was on JV).  She did awesome this year even when there were a couple of girls that transferred in and pretty much took her spot.  But that is okay, she played a bunch and did well in the game.  The season ended in February........
And Track started up almost the same moment as BB ended.  M struggled with wanting to do track again this year.  We tried to convince her that she should, but wanted her to decide for herself.  So when one day she popped her head into my bedroom and said she had decided to do it, I was thrilled.  She did well last year and I knew she could improve this year.  She is doing Discus and Shot Put again.....and she has a new coach, so that made her real happy since she didn't like the last one.  So far she has competed in 3 meets and has done very well.  She is throwing so much farther than last year at this time......in fact, this last weekend she threw her personal best so far in both events....

Discus was 85 1/2 feet.....up 10 feet from the same meet last year.
Shot Put was 27.5 1/2 feet......up 8 feet from last year.
She is doing AWESOME!  And I just love to watch her and be there to encourage her (or console her) however she is feeling that day.  Keep it up M!!!!

Volleyball season has started up for T again.  It is not a Varsity sport at the high school, so he has to find a so called sponsor so they can play in club ball.  He asked me to coach them this year as the lady they got last year was not very good.  I wish I could have said yes, but my schedule is so full.  So I told him I could fill in when the coach couldn't be there.  They got 2 girls from the girls VB team that graduated last year to coach them.  T also had to recruit everyone to play.....that is how much he loves to play.

They have had 2 game nights so far..... playing 2 different teams in a night.  They are not very good, but he sure has a fun time playing.....takes after his parents.  I have only been able to go to one night, so I look forward to more games I can watch.
You go T!  You are improving with every game!

Track starts next week for J....she is excited to be able to try out for it now that she is 7th grade.  She wants to run the sprints instead of long distance.  She should be good at that.....she is fast.  She has been running during Springs Break with another classmate to get ready for the season.  She will do great!

K wanted so badly to run Landsharks again this year...she loves the Spring season as it is track series rather than cross country series.  However, they have their races on Sunday this year rather than the usual Mondays......so she is very disappointed that she will not be participating in that.

I was able to be a chaperone for J's field trip up to Denver to the Nature and Science Museum.....we love that museum.  They had a special exhibit about Lizards and Snakes this time around and they were taking everyones pix with a boa......
Heehee!  I liked it the best because I could take my group of 9 kids around without having to hang with the huge group.  We could go wherever and whenever we wanted to as long as we were back at the bus at a certain time.  It was great to do it that way.  I hope Jenna had an OK time with Mom hanging out with her, cuz I had a good time being with her.

I think that has caught me up with what has been going on lately.  It is Spring Break right now, so that will be another post as well as the millions of other things that are on my calendar for the next few weeks.  I know that it will not slow down now until summer!
