Can You Feel The Heat?

I sure can and I LOVE IT!! Summer is my season. I do love the other seasons for the obvious reasons: Fall for the beautiful changing colors and the cooler temperatures, Winter for the first snowfall and the way the sun shines on the snow covered trees, and Spring for the budding trees and flowers. But Summer is hot, the sun shines more, and there is plenty to do with time to do it. I love summer. Yes, it can get pretty hot--just be glad it is not Arizona-but that is one of the reasons I love summer too. As I was driving around today in the beautiful weather (finally)I kept thinking of all the things I will love about this summer. Which by the way, officially starts Sunday.

Of course, there is the one thing I love most about the hotter weather----FLIP FLOPS. Yes, I tend to wear them whenever I can throughout the whole year, but now I can wear them every single day. Hurray! Mind you, I would go rather go barefoot, but flip flops are the next best thing. I believe you can never have enough flip flops. Did everyone catch the sale at Old Navy a month or so ago when their flip flops were on sale for $1.00. I sure did and I got each of my girls and me of course, 2 pairs each. All the really cool colors were gone first off, but any color is good in my book.

Next, is a simple thing called SLUSHES. I love Happy Hour at Sonic when their slushes and drinks are half off from 2-4pm. The best flavor in my book is the fresh fruit Strawberry slush. YUM! and for about 80 cents, you can't go wrong. Yes, they have Happy Hour all year long, but when it is hot outside is when they taste the best. I have already had two this week and it is only Wednesday.

Another thing I love to do in the summer is just be outdoors. I don't care what I am doing as long as the sun is hitting my face. I enjoy just sitting out on the porch watching the kids play or reading a book. I love the sun on my skin. We plan on doing lots of hiking, camping, biking, walking the dog, swimming, park playing, and BBQ's in the next couple of months. The best part of summer is just being with my kids. I am so blessed that I get to stay home with them. I love spending time with them and I miss them when they are gone (T come home). In the summer you can take vacations and do just about anythings without worrying about the time factor. The kids can stay up late or sleep in (me too) and there is no worries. I love no school and just hanging out together. Now if there was a beach near by, then I'd be all set. Well, actually there is one at Prospect Lake and we have been there before. That is a lot of fun too, but it is not the same as say like Newport Beach or Corona Del Mar. It's the California girl in me. Summer is the best no matter what you do. I hope you all will enjoy it as much as I will.

HAPPY SUMMER!

By the way, there is also a very funny show that has started it's second season just a few weeks ago. I'm talking WIPEOUT! Does anyone else think that is totally hilarious? We watch it as a family and roll on the floor laughing. It is on Wednesday nights on ABC. The commentary is what makes it all so funny besides that fact that these people totally wipeout on this obstacle course. If you watched it last summer you know what I'm talking about when I say "He pulled a Jacob Mann!!!" or "Where's the pole?" Too funny.

LOL I saw the "wheres the pole" episode. That was the only one we watched though, pretty funny stuff.

Ha! We like Wipeout too. Infact, there have been a few times we have used the "Jacob Mann" quote when we have seen someone get hurt like that. I like the new course they have this season.

Summer is FUN! Our family watches Wipeout and also I survived a Japanese Game Show. (It started last night.) The commentators for Wipeout crack me up...I love the knick names they give the contestants... :P

Living here I forget not everyone can wear flip flops all year long. :) You sound like you need to live in Florida, you'd see the sun most of the year and live near the beach.
