Double Digits!

Today my sweet J Boo turned 10. It is hard to believe how fast she seems to be growing up. She was so excited even though her party with friends in not for a couple of days and we didn't do a whole lot today. Her birthday always seems to sneak up on me every year and this one was no different. I think it is because of the craziness of the last week of school and then I don't see it on the calendar every day since it is on the month of May. Then when I do switch over to June--THERE IT IS-it is already here. Usually I do have most of her gifts already bought, but not this time. I went out this morning to do the bulk of the shopping. When I got home, we did go to the library to sign up for the summer reading program and of course, to check out books and movies. We stopped for ice cream on the way home. She did go over to a friend's house for awhile this afternoon to play.

For dinner tonight, we went to Chuck E. Cheese for pizza and games. That was her pick this year which was a good one as we haven't been there in a long time. The girls had a great time running around and playing. Then home for presents, the best part! She got some books and stickers, a cute summer outfit, and a bigger beach towel, among other things. She got money and a gift card from the grandparents so she is very excited to go spend that as soon as possible.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY J! (would you please quit growing up)

MOM NOTE: You know, it wasn't the same without T though. It sure did give me a glimpse of what our life will be like in a few years when he is on his mission and will miss the birthdays and other holidays. And I can honestly tell you--I didn't like it. I am not ready to have him leave the "nest". I guess I should be grateful I still have a few more years. When he left on Sunday, I was very teary-eyed and my heart was sad knowing that I wouldn't see him for a week. He is fun to have around, noisy, but fun and I love his happy spirit in our home. I know this is a great experience for him and I look forward to hearing all about his Air Force adventures when he returns.

Happy Birthday! 10 already. Time really does go fast, she was 6 or 7 when I left.
Chuck E Cheese, what a hoot. My kids love it but it's kind of "ghetto" here so we do on off hours when there is nobody else there.
The one in CO Springs is kept pretty clean, nice.
