Girl's Night! (I mean DAY!)

Anyone who knows us, knows that when the boys go away on a camp out, us girls play! Normally they go after work on a Friday, but today, they left this morning. So rather than a girl's night out, we had the whole day to play and play we did.

First off, I took the guys over to meet the rest of the troop and then I was off to the store to get milk. The donuts looked so good in the display case that I had to pick up some for breakfast. Then after getting the milk, saw that the Sara Lee cheesecakes were on sale for a great price, so had to pick up a couple of those as well as some ice cream and strawberries before checking out. I think we are set for the day, what do you think?!

I did have to run to the scout shop today to pick up merit badges and advancement patches for the court of honor on Sunday, but once that was out of the way-P-A-R-T-Y!
The weather was simply gorgeous today and we had a blast sipping our Sonic slushes with the windows down and the sun roof open. Gotta love summer! We went miniature golfing, to the library to pick up a book for M that she had on hold, to Redbox for movies and then home for a bit to play outside with friends. We headed to Texas Roadhouse for an early dinner--that was yummy--and then home to watch movies. We first watched "Hotel for Dogs", which is a good one. We had seen it at the dollar theater but wanted to see it again. For a $1, sure why not! Then it was nail time. The girls love this part as they get to pick whatever color they want, or colorS, and we do both fingers and toes. Of course, they also wanted the flowers printed on top as well. In the case of M, BASKETBALL! (You'll have to click on the photo to get a closer look at the great details on the nails) After that was finished and we were all dry, we spooned out some ice cream and sat down for another movie. Of course, another dog movie but this one was so sad--"Marley and Me". The dog was so cute but was a pain. And I thought our dog was a nuisance. By the time it was over, we were all crying. It didn't help that the little ones were so tired either since it was after 11pm. But what a great day we had. Sure hope the boys are having a good time too. What will we do tomorrow?????? (chores? YUKE!)

What a fun girls day out! Yah, "Marley and Me" totally sad, I would never buy it. I didn't let the kids watch it (I think Kai would've been too sad that he died). You think Hotel for dogs would hold the kids interest (they are 6 and 3). I am sure I'd like it. :)
