K is running for Landsharks Running Club through her elementary school again this year and she loves it. She was sick for the first race, it was Sprint Night for the 2nd race with her running the 50m and 200m. Last night was the last race with her running the 400m. She came in FIRST PLACE in 2nd grade girls with a time of 1'33.68 (5 seconds ahead of the next girl) You did fantastic!
M decided to try Track this year for her last year at the middle school. She doesn't like to run so she put her mind to throwing the discus like her brother and putting the shot like her mother. (yes, I was a buff girl back in the day) She had districts on Saturday and did a fabulous job--she placed 3rd in discus with a throw of 68 feet 7 1/2 inches and 7th place in shot put with a distance of 24 feet 3 inches. Not bad for a first timer!! T was telling her that she was throwing the discus almost as far as the girls on his high school team, so I think she is in contention next year. Way to go girl!
T threw discus for the high school team again this year. He has been very discouraged as he has wanted to throw farther than 100 feet and came up short in all the meets. But he did throw well enough to send him to several varsity meets which meant that he had 2 meets a week sometimes. At his last varsity meet on Friday in Denver, he threw 109 feet 5 inches to put him in the finals this weekend. He was very excited to say the least.
I am glad that at least 3 out of the 4 kids are done with sports for the year. It has been hard with some of the meets falling on the same night and being at opposite sides of town. Throw in the volleyball games and it was near impossible to make it to everything. But we worked through it and now it will be more manageable. It has been fun to see my children improve and I have been busting with pride at their accomplishments this year. I always look forward to the next year and what they will do.
Good Job T, M, J, and K!!!!

Way to go kiddos! I always love to see my kids involved in sports...basketball, soccer, whatever...soccer! ;o)
woot! Love Track!
Awesome....that is great! I lettered in track in high school, not for the runningbut for the discus and shot put. It was so much fun and great she could do what you did too.
