An Adult.....Are You Kidding Me?

So I am slow to write this post....I could give many good reasons.....
1.  I don't want to admit that I am old enough to have an adult child!

2.  I don't want to admit that my baby boy is growing up and going to leave the nest soon!

3.  That we haven't done all the celebrating yet and wanted to post all the events together!

4.  That I have been so busy that I haven't had time to post it until now!

You can take your pick on which is the right answer, but in actuality, it is all of those things....

But yes, T turned 18 last week and I can't believe he is officially an adult.  My how time flies!  But what a great young man he has become.  I am so proud of him and so happy that I am his mother.  He makes me proud every day.
Anyway, his birthday fell on a Sunday, so we celebrated some on Saturday.  We spent the afternoon doing this.......

*Notice the clay pigeon in several pieces---good shot T!

*J is rubbing her sore shoulder after her turn at shooting

And it was so much fun.  We were missing M as she was at a friend's swim party, but we all love to go shooting......even if we come away with bruised shoulders.  Even though I have no pictures of me shooting (thanks guys for thinking to take some :)  If M was there, she would have), I did manage to hit some clay pigeons.  OK so I really am not that good, but I do love to shoot. T is a natural, of course.  It is fun to see him and his dad compete........in everything.

That night, he picked Red Robin for his birthday dinner....we had to eat early since he had to work that night.  But we even had the waiters sing to him....HAHAHA!  No one is ever too old to embarrass in this family.

On his actual birthday, he asked for steaks on the grill, mashed potatoes and gravy. For dessert, I surprised him with his favorite......Chocolate Cream Pie!  I doubled it for more chocolaty goodness.

What to get an 18 year old for a gift??????  He is hard to buy for cuz all the things he wants are so expensive.  You know like a truck!  But we did manage to get him some fun things that he liked.  In fact, we hear his favorite present every day when he cranks the new stereo up.
Look what T caught in his new fishing net!!  Man, that is one big net!

So we are not done celebrating yet, as one more present is still out there that we hope to do this week.....I will post about that when it happens, but until then I will keep you in suspense.

Happy Birthday Son!
You have come a long way baby!
