Playing Catch Up!

Now that I have my big fundraiser out of the way and I have a chance to breath, I am playing catch up with my blog...shocker I know.  But I finished downloading all my pictures off the camera and even fixed all of January's pictures, so I will post each month as I fix them.  So here goes January!

Our January is always chuck full of basketball....pretty much that is all we do is sit in a gym and watch M play ball at least 2 times a week.  She has done pretty good this year despite the new "hurt" she has developed...Plantar Fascitis.  One day she came home from practice complaining how much her heal and arch hurt on her foot.  After several days of complaints, we took her to the doctor and that was the diagnosis.  Nothing to do but stretch it every day and get special inserts for your shoes.  ICK...I like when there is a cure to get rid of it.  So she has learned to play with it.  Some games are better than others, but I can tell it has affected her performance.  But she is a trooper and has hung in there the best she can.
We started out the new year with a game at Valor Christian in Denver.  So we dropped M off at the school to catch the bus and me and the girls headed for Denver to play until the game.  It was fun to go shopping and goof around until game time.  Of course afterwards, we hit Steak N Shake for a yummy burger and the most scrumptious shakes around.  We got back pretty late....I am sure hubby was wondering if we were ever coming home. (and no they did not win...blah)
This was K's favorite game to attend...Palmer Ridge!  The home of the Grizzlies!...of course.  She is so in love with bears that she has asked if she could please go to this high school.  Just a bit too far for me to drive every morning and afternoon (30 minutes each way on the freeway)  But she was sure in heaven that night sitting in the stands.  She didn't want to wash her hand EVER!
We spent as many nights as we could out in the back yard looking through our new telescope.  But since it is winter, we had a hard time finding a night without clouds.  And then when we did, it was so cold that we had to get coats, gloves and hats on....even wrap ourselves in blankets,  But that was the price to pay for such fun things to look at.  My sweet hubby bought me an adapter so my camera can fit right on the telescope.  I don't have all the settings when we do that, but I can still change some to get it to look half way decent.

We saw the moon......
Beetlejuice....
And even Jupiter with some of its moons.....
We even could see M42.....a nebula in the Constellation Orion.....
The pictures are not like those ones you see in the book...need a better camera for that and so it is hard for me when they come out a bit blurry.  I want them crisp and gorgeous....some day! I am sure that there will be plenty more pictures of space posted in the months to come, especially once it hit summer and camping season!  :)
