Okay, so ever since Christmas, K has liked these. . . . .
ZhuZhu Pets!
It all started when I needed one more small gift for her and I was at Walmart and these were on the end cap. They were fairly cheap and they looked like something she would like, so I bought one. She did like them and now they are an obsession with her. Whenever she goes to a friend's house, she takes them. When we go to the store, we always have to check to see what is new and what is finally available cuz they have been sold out. I am actually ok with this toy. . . it isn't very noisy, they are small and they actually are pretty cute with the sounds they make. Now granted, there are tracks and buildings and such just like a hamster cage, but I won't buy those. They take up too much space and she likes to just run them around the floor anyway. I did pull out our old hamster ball for her to play with the other day and she thought that was fun. J actually ended up buying one today at the store, so I guess K is quite the trend setter.

Now this is something that I thought we would get away with not "getting in to" . . . . . .
Silly Bandz!
We lasted for a long time with not knowing what they are, but once school started, we were doomed. K loves them and has been asking me to go to Walmart to get more. Everyday when she would come home from school, she would have more on her arm. I told her to tell her friends to quit giving her more, but that is what you are suppose to do. . . .trade them. (Sounds like another fad I know) And because K is in to them, J has now decided that they are pretty cool. Yes, we finally made it to the store and they hurried home to spread them all out, divide them up and put them on. They love them, they are cheap and I am surprised at how durable they are. I guess any hope of having this fad slide by is lost.

Fads are so funny. It amazes me how fast some fads disappear and how some last a long time. Some of the fads my kids have been into over the years are. . . . .Bionicles, Legos, Pokeman, Sweet Streets, beanie babies, Hot Wheels, Polly Pocket, Barbies, Nerf guns. The list goes on and on and I am sure that many more fads will grace our home before all the kids leave. Hey, maybe leg warmers will come back with the parachute pants and big hair. . . . hmmmmmm!

The pets are not big n our house, but even the boys know silly bandz. I think they're fun and cute! T won't wear them because his brother won't...you know 'cool'... :o)
I think fads must move from here to there. Last Christmas those zhu zhu pets were nowhere to be found, people were trying to sell them for more than they were worth on craigslist. I have actually never even seen one until your picture. I just knew they were a hit. The silly bandz craze hit mid-end of the school year last year. I love that boys can wear them too. :)
Funny Abbey is into the same things. She is dying for the baby zhu zhu's and stroller next month for her birthday. Also, Im glad you had fun at Disneyland. I am sure it was fun to have your whole family there.
