Her First One!

Tonight was J's first ever band concert.  It was crowded, hot and long.  M had a basketball game right before that, so we weren't able to get there early enough to even get a seat, but J did a great job.  She decided to go away from the family tradition of playing the trombone (as the first two kids did) to playing the clarinet.  She went to the music store and practiced on all the different instruments and decided on that one.  She struggled at first to even get a sound out of it, but now she does just fine.
M handed down her band shirt she got in 8th grade and it is too big for J.  But she looked cute in her black skirt and heels.  She looked so tall to me...she is growing up so fast.  I am not prepared for this one.

It was a nice way to end a very busy day.  Good Job J!

Ahhh ... I remember the holiday concerts at Horizon! So much fun. I always looked forward to it. Clarinet is a lovely instrument, one of my faves. It was nice to see such a bright, pretty smile on your musician!

That's so cool that she play the clarinet. Jason used to play (emphasis on the USED to) and actually has his own. Nicole wants to play someday, too!

Way to go J!
