Lights Before the Storm

Every year we go to the zoo on New Year's Day to see the Electric Safari light display.  However, we heard it was to be cold and snowy on that day and for a few days before (like starting today).  We figured we wouldn't get the snow they said cuz we never do and we haven't had much snow this winter so far.  But it was suppose to be super cold and that is always a drag when it is dark and you are walking around outside, so we opted to go earlier in the week to beat the storm and have a warmer evening.  AND IT WAS PERFECT!  The wind was blowing a bit, but not a cold wind and the temperature was actually warmer against the mountain than at our house.  It was just right with what we were wearing...we could have lost the hats...it was that nice.

We were able to see the lions relaxing on their rock....

The cougars sleeping and bears wandering........

And the giraffes all excited for the crackers being offered them......

We had a great time being together.  We did miss T as he had YM's and he did already go see the lights with his girlfriend and another couple the night before.

It was a good thing we went when we did...this is the scene outside our home right now......

Isn't that great......FINALLY we have some snow.  We have waited for too long to see this.  I only wish we could have had this weather last weekend for Christmas.  Better late than never I guess.
