Fire, Fire, Pants on Fire!

OK, maybe not pants, but just in case of fire.....we are now prepared!

T and his best friend decided to join the Colorado Springs Fire Department Explorer program.  They have been doing it for about a month now and they love it.  This past Saturday, they spent the day getting CPR certified and got their bunker gear.  Don't they look cool!

This is a great program as they learn about being a fire fighter, learn EMT things and eventually get to do ride-a-longs with the fire department to actual fires.  They wear the green helmets so they can be picked out easily as "non-fire" personnel. (also by the words on T's backside)

We were very apprehensive to have him join, but after going to the induction, we were very impressed with the program and gave him the green light to keep attending.  Just add one more thing onto T's busy schedule.  But he loves it and looks forward to going each week.  They also got these awesome jackets..I want one (they look warm)

Of course, firemen get hungry!  Here he is looking for something to eat after his long hard day!  He sure doesn't look like my young son......all of a sudden, he looks very grown up. And he looks so cool in just the pants and boots.
