Patience!

The one thing I do not have is patience.  I am trying hard to get some and it will always be something that I struggle with, but there is one that has so much patience it is ridiculous........

Yes, Duke can sit and sit and wait and wait til the cows come home.  And he will do this over and over again.  Those that know him, can testify to this fact.

So every morning when the little girls are having breakfast and getting themselves ready for school, this dumb dog sits at the pantry door and waits..........

And if the door is not latched, he will put his nose in and open the door.......

All for this......

A treat!  He knows they are in there and he knows that the girls will always give him one and so this is the spot he sits every morning up until the moment they leave for school.  Actually as soon as we all leave the kitchen, he resigns himself and goes elsewhere.  You've got to hand it to him.  He has more patience than ever, but it also gets very annoying (especially when it comes to his ball or rope)
