He Came!

OK, I promise I won't post about EVERY track meet of the season but this one made M extra happy.  So I wanted to post about it for journal sake.

This week, M was invited to participate in another Varsity meet....I think she will go to all of them, but we will see.  Anyway, today it was down in Pueblo, just like last weekend and we were so excited when HE showed up.    Let me back up a bit.....

M has a very special teacher from middle school that she just loves to death. We actually first met him when he was T's wrestling coach in 7th grade.  We have all loved him ever since.  We found out this past Christmas that they had found a brain tumor. We were all shocked and very saddened at the news.  The cancer is advanced and so we are hoping for a miracle.  Obviously he did not come back to teach at school in January.....right at the time that J would have had him as her Industrial Arts teacher.  We have sent him emails and kept him in our prayers, but the kids have all wished to see him.  So after last week's meet, I told M she should email him and see if he wanted to come out and see her throw today, after all he was her throwing coach in middle school.  He lives in Penrose and so is not too far away.  She found out last night that he was planning on coming to watch her.

She was so thrilled and excited to see him, as was I.  He looked so good and it was so fun to chat with him about everything.  He was so happy that M had contacted him and asked him to come.  He had some encouraging words to say to her which meant more to her than anything.  She really looks up to him and admires him. 

So that was the main reason she was so happy today, not to mention that she threw farther today than she had in the last Varsity meet, and also the JV meet.......76.1 feet!!!!  She can only go up and we are excited to see what this season brings.  YOU GO GIRL!!!!
